Newb wax questions

Hey my fellow car anal paint people like myself. Well just recently after reading tons of detailing shit im obsessed now. I'd rather embarass myself on here with dumb questions then on autopia

1. I've been using NXT, How do you guys rate this wax? and how long do you think it really lasts? (ive seen people say 4 weeks and ive seen people say 3 months)

2. Is it bad to wax too often? Like what If I wanted to wax every 2-3 weeks is that obsessive?

3. What kinda wax should I be used? Carnuba? What do you guys recommend other then NXT that I can buy at Pep Boys...I also have Gold Class

4. If I last used NXT, Can I use a different wax next time? Whats the best kinda wax to use if i used NXT like 3 weeks ago?

5. Is the water beading test the only test I can do?

6. Carnuba wax lasts the longest right?

7. Does anyone have the WAXtest.com results?

NXT is basically the only store bought product I'd use. I get different results on it. Usually lasts 8 weeks on average though.

Nothing wrong w/ redoing it once a month. I usually do. Know many people that do more often.

Synthetics last longer then Carnubas generally

Zaino won the wax test
P21S/S100 came in second (this is a product I love and use often, it's what I currently have on my cars and can be bought at a local Harley dealer)

however this test is basically outdated as much has come around since it was done.

Personally, I say get S100 and give it a shot, it's a great product.

go to a local harley dealer and pick up s100, should run you $12-$14...it is good stuff. its a good topper wax, so I thiink you can top the nxt with s100

edit....I just saw clpower's post, hes right.

stay away from formula 113

NXT is a synthetic polymer, it's an LSP unless you want to top it w/ a carnuba.

LSP = ? Sythetic Polymer

And when you say top with a carnuba, how do you do that? just wax with nxt then right after use carnuba? or wait 24 hrs?

also which carnuba should i top it with? And iz this neccessary

Last Step Product

and 24 hours later. Synthetic Polymers need abotu 24 hours to cure correctly and for the wax to spread out and make a connection

topping w/ a carnuba isn't necessary. I like to, I have S100 on top of NXT on my sub.

Don't forget to clay the car first. Before any detail work.

Doesn't NXT have some polish/cleaner/solvent properties, not simply a polymer wax?
