I guess you can say I'm a newbie on waxing a car and I just recently started looking into Zaino and other products but from what I see in forums that Zaino is the best way to go. Is it possible to buy Zaino at a store or would i have to buy it online? Also what Zaino products are necessary and essential to have in order to keep your car looking wet? I really appreciate it if anyone can help.

Oh yeah by the way is it recomended to hand buff your car or use an electric buffer? Thanks again.

I am currently using the following:

ZFX accelerator
Z2 polish
Z5 polish for light swirls
Z6 detail spray
Z7 car wash
Z18 clay bar

At a bare minimum, I would suggest ZFX, Z2, Z6 an Z7...it all depends on the condition of your car and how much effort you're willing to put into it.

BTW, I hand buff Zaino on...I believe most people on this forum do that too. I'm not sure if Zaino should be applied with an orbital or not.

You can also try Meguiars 3 step system if you want something in the store. But replace the step 3 wax with Meguiars #26. Excellent!

Yeah, this is stuff is awesome and you can just run down to the store to get it. Easy to apply, wet look paint and smooth. I believe you can also replace the Step 2 polish with some professional line (biege bottle) polish. But either way, the 3-step system is great!

i found a new wax for white cars that i use on mine now...its made by Granitize, and its called Exotic Super Gloss with Teflon.......basically its just a polymer wetcoat with some teflon in it, works really good, looks great

 

I wash my car every week and I just recently switched to Dawn and was wondering if it was ok to use that every time i wash my car b/c i read in a site that its not recommended to use dawn all the time...I only just use it once a week..j/w what you guys do..thanks

 

Dude quit that shit now!! Only use dawn to strip your wax, so you can start fresh. That means at the most 2 times a year not every week. go to ecklers and get some Zaino now! Overnite that shit because you have no protection on your paint right now

 

yeah i havent used dawn on the same car i have 3 others...so basically i only used it once on each car..so no worries

 

this technique has worked well for me with many cars, old paint or new it works well. i haven't tried it on black though. it works on gold/silver and maroon. thats all i have had. 1st of course is to wash the car. take it for a ride to dry off.
i use a cheap car wax, meguires yellow wax and an orbital buffer.
the 1st step is to use a clean t-shirt preferably white to see the dirt. cut off a few peices. one to wipe off the dirt and dust from the drive before using the cheap wax.
so use the 1st cloth and wipe off the panel u r going to wax and then using the cheap wax clean each panel, making sure to get all road tar and bugs or whatever. as u dirty the cloth use a clean part to not transfer the dirt. then wipe off the cheap wax . this 1st step will take the longest. the next step uses 2 terry cloth bonnets (or whatever they are called) i use the meguirs yellow wax and apply some to another peice of t-shirt cloth(b/c they are soft and used) and smear across the panel i am working on. i use the 1st terry cloth bonnet to apply the wax and spend about 1 min with light pressure and keep going over the same areas back and forth. after covering all areas of the panel u r working on, use another clean peice of cloth and wipe off the yellow wax. after the wax is off use the 2nd terry cloth bonnett and buff the panel u r working on to get off the remaining wax that u missed with the cloth. go over the sam areas for approx 1 min.
the final step is to use the soft bonnet( it's real fuzzy) i can't remember the name of it, but use the fuzzy bonnet and do the final buffing of the area for approx 1 minute also.

after the buffing process is done there should not be any swirls, i have done this on an 89 camry with old paint maroon, 97 maxima maroon, and an 01 maroon maxima. my g/f's 97 tl gold looks beautiful and does my 01 gold cl.
i would expect this to work on black.
i have never waxed a black car but it should work with NO swirls!!!!

...1 or 2 used white t shirts preferably used for a few months and washed before using
...2 or 3 terry cloth bonnets for 9 inch buffer
...1 soft polishing bonnet
...1 orbital buffer

Foam bonnetts are by far the best. Pep Boys has em.

Foam is most often used for polish.

Terry/Microfiber for finishing.

I apply and remove wax by hand followed by a Quick Detailer spray.

 

Just wondering..I waxed my car yesterday and went out for a spin ..and of course houston's weather is unpredictable it started to rain and now my car is dirty. When this happens to yall, do you wash your car again and j/ spray the quick detailer spray when finished?

 

oh yeah and also I bought a clay bar finally and i want to use it the next time i clean my car..will this effect the wax job i did recently? Thanks again..

 

You clay,,,before,,,you wax. It removes surfactants & will also remove your fresh wax.

Just wait until next time & give it the whole shabang...
