New product, lets talk about it!

The first thing I noticed about this yet released product is its ability to hold, and generate a lot of suds!

Is it just made of the same foam as polishing pads?

Marks? What kind of marks......
As for actual washpad foam, I dont think its the same, its very soft yet very durable.....Kind of weird feeling, and it will be patented.....

Probably more then you think. I know it may look "just like foam" but theres a lot of technology behind it as well. (This was my feeling as well wen I spoke with its manufacturer)
I think according to its manufacturer, msrp should run between $12-$15.00.
My initial offering will be low for the first week, then follow MSRP with a ziner discount. Im still awating marketing peices/tidbits. As of now, all I have is a firsthand experience, and it really is quite unique. Ive been seuch a loyal sheepskin fan for SOOO long, its hard to imagine me using anything else....

But the foam this thing generates is amazing......

It looks like a fancy sponge.
Hypothetically - If we were to use a sponge on our cars, would there be a big chance of leaving swirls/scratches?

Thats kind of why I stopped using sponges years ago. I kept discovering marring after polishing and waxing. Went to the sheepskins and havent really had any issues since then.
The beauty of these washmits is the crisscross cuts provides habitat for larger peices of debris, and it rinses out, extremely well. The foam is very very soft also.......Just watch out around emblems though!! The same places that snag sheepskins will tug at the foam pad....

looks interesting. The only problem I could forsee with it, is the fact that a lot of dirt could potentially and unknowingly get caught in between those little "cubes"

I agree with johnny--2k about the potential for small or large chunks of debris to get lodged int he crisscross cuts of the pad. This mitt is probably only useful if you use the two-bucket wash method and do so consistently. Otherwise, you do run the risk of entrapping small particles which may result in light surface scratches. I do like the ability to hold soap suds, but still prefer the two-bucket wash method and a boar hair brush.

Guys, if you have "large" debris on the car when you use a sheepskin, Schmitt, sponge, brush, you risk marring. The trick and technique is to pre rinse that matter away before even soaping up the surface.
2 buckets are always safer, but not always practical.
Boar hairs bruhes are nice, but $$$.....!
I have some of these arriving shortly, another week or so to come of the production line according to the manufacturer this a.m.

Pat - what are your thoughts on using this with ONR. (My sheepskin is starting to fall apart, and i haven't used regular car shampoo in about a year)

That I havent tried yet. But i do see its possibilities, with a NRWS pre soaking. I dont even NRWS without the sprayer anymore.....
