I wouldn't recommend anything abrasive.

Just use a soft wash mitt and regular auto wash soap and apply a little elbow grease! This will work on bugs that have been sitting a while too.

The easiest way is preventive maintenance. Keep your front end waxed often during the spring/summer months and you'll notice how easy it is to remove the bugs.

As for the glue, I wouldn't know.

You could also try to "clay bar" the front end. That should also clear up a lot of the bugs. Since even after washing it with a little elbow grease. It's still possible that the surface isn't completely smooth.
So... claybar... then polish... and wax. If you keep a good coat of wax on there. In the future, bugs wont stick as easily.

I like Turtle Wax Bug and Tar. It's a thick liquid that stays where you spray it. Let it soak than wipe off. Best of all, it leaves a wax finish. I use it on my clear bra as well with great success!

I second the Clay Bar; you can get a Mother's kit at AutoZone. I just used one on a Solara that needed a ton of cleaning and it worked WONDERS! I spent about 4 hours with the clay bar and it removed every scuff, bug, tar on the car. Then use a REALLY good wax--I used the Klasse Twins on my TL and it is spectacular. I didn't have time, but I'll be putting on Pinnacle Souveran next weekend. I can't recommend the Klasse Twins enough--the best/easiest I've used.

Forget the clay bar unless you plan to throw it away afterward. Use elbow grease and if that doesn't work use WD-40 and let it soak on there a few. As for the glue, you could try some rubbing alcohol.

You know what works that makes your problem easier? more wax

My uncle had a Vette and he always put like 3-4 layers of wax of the whole front bumper area whenever he was detailin it. The area is so smooth and techincally the bugs dont touch or have anything to cling to your car. I swear to u, all u pretty much had to do was wipe your finger across the bumper and almost all the bugs smeared off.
Makes it so much easier come bug cleanin time.
