Navigation Screen?

What is the best way to clean the fingerprints off the navigation screen? I'm scared to use anything but a cloth at this point, but hoped that someone on this forum would have some insight. Thanks.

i use windex wipes and tthey work great. You end up with the excess dust in the corners up but, just use a can of compressed air

I've actually found that the my cleaner and cloth for my oakley sunglasses does a great job! I figured if it doesn't scratch sunglass lenses, it should be safe on the navi-screen..I was right and that's what I use now. You can get a sunglass cleaning kit with the special cloth and spray solution at Sunglass Hut for about $10

A microfiber cloth is the best thing to use (glasses cloth). DON'T USE ANYTHING LIKE WINDEX WIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a touch screen not a window.

Folks,

Is there a safe solution to also take the greasy finger prints off, in addition using the microfiber cloth?

Thanks,

Sam

Your Nav screen is basically the same as a laptop or LCD screen. Here are a few SAFE methods and recommendations:

1. Use clean water and a microfiber lens cloth. Just dampen the cloth slightly and use a dry cloth to wipe down. Usually a dry micofiber lens cloth is all it takes.

2. for the really tough dirt buy cleaner designed specifically for laptop or LCD screens:
- iKlear Klear Screen (recommended by Apple and ViewSonic)
http://www.klearscreen.com/index.html

3. ...or make your own cleaner
- 50/50 isopropyl/water mix
- Water with a little vinegar in it

(the difference is the commercial products usually contain dust and static inhibitors)

4. DO NOT USE WINDEX or other glass cleaners
- they contain amonia and/or alcohol
- they can yellow the screen
- they can make the screen brittle
- the screen is plastic not glass!
