Windex is not a good cleaner for your car's windows. The ammonia in it makes the windows streak. Also, the thing about the newspapers is that in the old days the ink would act as a polish, but now most newspaper inks are water-based so they don't work like they used to. Try a dedicated auto glass cleaner and a good, lint-free microfiber cloth for wiping your windows - that should help. Good luck!

Ammonia is good for cutting through grease and other crud, but as you say it does streak if used excessively. I cut my Windex 50% with water and use very sparingly and when needed.

Otherwise, I prefer a vinegar-based cleaner.

Using anything ammonia-based on tinted windows is a definite no-no anyway.

I use Stoner's Invisible Glass. I park in the shade, spray, apply in circular motion, and finally turn the microfiber towel to buff.

Stoners makes a great window cleaner. Helpful tip: When cleaning windows, use up and down strokes on outside of window and use left to right strokes on inside. That way you know if youre streaking problem is on the inside or on the outside.
