My '06 AM after detailing

I had this done this AM in South Carolina at the vacation home. The detailer is mobile- comes to your location: http://www.40autodetail.com/

He does fantastic work (his name is Joshua and he works in the Myrtle Beach area) - both inside and outside detail was done for $100 (which is really a bargain). I used to detail my own cars but was never really good at it. Here's some pics:

I highly recommend him if you're looking to have your car detailed.

What all does the "detail" include for $100?

Full interior/ exterior cleaning, polishing/ waxing, wheel dressing, leather cleaning/ dressing, carpet vacuuming and cleaning (carpet cleaning). If it's especially dirty and more work is needed, the price goes up, but for $100, it's an excellent deal. The last time I had the car detailed, it was $150, so this is a bargain. I always look at a deal in terms of hours of how long it would take me to get similar results. For how good my car looks now, it would take many hours, as well a having to buy the polishes/ waxes/ cleaners/ and polisher, and even then, I likely wouldn't get such a good result.

If I could get rid of another 8 inches of snow that fell Saturday night, I would detail my Type S too.

$100 is probably the lowest I've heard of for a full detail. Do you know which products he used?

My S4 needs a detail badly but I need to buy a lot of different products because after doing a test section I realized the clear coat is like a rock compared to my TL's. I think I am going to try out the Meguiar's microfiber pads which means I need to buy new backing plates too. I already have a cart saved full of stuff for like 400$ lol. But on a side note the car looks great for 100$ detail

I think his website indicates Meguire's products for the exterior. For the interior, I don't know. I see some folks here detail pretty frequently. I get my car done once yearly, and have since new. It looks really good, but since it's AM, it hides any dirt and defects well. Plus, my car was pretty clean to begin with except it needed a good detail.

Ok I can see why its $100 ... not a bad deal but there is no correction at all ..

•Buffer Applied Meguiars Cleaner/Polish/Wax
•Buffer Applied Cleaner/Polish/Wax

Dupicate step and he is using an OTC wax with cleaners in it .. which doesn't polish.

I also find it a little odd he doesn't clay bar until the $300 package.

autogeek.net....is your best friend for learning. lots of info there.

a lot of people use the porter cable dual action polisher. some use the griot's DA. they aren't really that expensive....it's all the other stuff that goes with it that will push the cost a bit. you could get everything you need to start out for around $300 (the DA, product, pads). it can get a little addicting....be careful. i see car paint in a different light now since i started using a DA.

Finally someone laid it all out there. To those who don't detail regularly, $100 is a good deal, which is fine for those people. To others, we know what your actually getting done. Either way, as long as the person paying is happy then go for it!

Regardless of the products used, the guys seems to have done a good job and i'm sure it didn't take him an hour to do all that work. Meguiars products are pretty reputable. Some people think that spending more money = better results. Not always the case.

Like you said, as long as the person paying is happy, then thats all that matters.
