I had that too .. if its not etched too deep a cleaner wax will usually remove that .

When you put them back on run a strip of black electrical tape on the area so it just goes out 1/16" than the flap does .. its saves more damage and comes off easily.

If that didn't do it then its etched in... when you run your fingernail over it can you feel it?

I have used this stuff on quite a few things on my cars with amazing results. Give it a shot. If this does'nt work than you are going to have to paint it.

He isn't trying to remove residue from the paint .. the rubbing of the mud flaps have etched into the paint leaving a groove.

Ok lets back up a step or 2 here .. What do you have a stain/discoloration thats a different color than the paint? Or an indentation in the shape of the outline of the mud flap where if you run your fingernail over it you can feel the indentation?

BTW the people that recommend reducer or paint thinners should be careful .. its a pretty general term and tho it might remove the stain it could cause clear coat failure down the road. It also may immediatly screw the clear .. so be careful.

You may be able to polish it to a point where its not that noticable but if your feeling it I doubt it. Your not dealing with color your dealing with an indentation made by the flexing of the mud flaps rubbing on the surface.
