Mr Clean Autowash Report
Well, the weather around here was finally decent enough for me to break out my Mr Clean Autowash. All I can say is that it works. The water doesn't sheet off instantly like the commercial, but it is spotless when it dries. There were some spots where the water beaded up, but those were spots that I generally didn't clean too well. I had to towel dry those spots but it's much better than going over the whole car.

cool, thanks for the report. i've been tempted to buy one and may just do it. is there any info about a recommended temperature range to use it during? i wonder how warm it has to be to use it and how well it does in high heat
how did it work on the wheels?

Oh yeah, it was also about 45-50 degrees out when I washed my car, and the water was frigid from all the cold weather in the area. I don't think temperature is a big issue.

Does the soap seem pretty mild? I wash my car a lot and clearly this would save me time washing every week, but I'm hesitant to move away from my pricey car "shampoos" to a Mr. Clean product. Don't want to strip my wax...

I was on the Mr. Clean website http://www.homemadesimple.com/mrclean/
and they have a $5 coupon you can sign up for. Looks like they'll send it to you in the mail. I wonder how their soap is compared to Zaino car wash.

I have a buddy who's father works for P&G (maker of this stuff) and his opinion was that Zaino soap is still better, but he likes the water filters on this Mr. Clean system.
Although P&G did test a lot of products, they are not going after Zaino quality products. This system is for the casual car washer nut, not like us nuts who go after Zaino and the like.

Ok, just washed my car today with the Mr. Clean AutoDry system and it does work. Some spots take longer to dry by itself but it does dry and for the spots that didn't, I just gently wiped over it with a cotton towel. Made drying a whole lot faster and easier. I still went over with the Z6 afterwards (all the Zaino users know what I'm talking about). For $20 bucks at a Wal Mart, Target +$5 dollar coupon on their website, this is definitely well worth it.

Hey guys,
Here is my advise on cleaning your rims: Purple Power or Bleach White works great on the tires only, but be careful. Then clean the wheels with your leftover soapy water and an old rag. After they are dry, spray some WD-40 on the wheels and wipe them down. This will get all the brake dust residue off and leave the wheels so slick that the water will bead and run off. Then I recommend shining the tires with meguiars endurance gel -- it really will last for weeks and through several washes.
Hope this helps ya!
