I bought a used 04 TL that came with a moonroof visor. I like how the car looks without the visor better so I removed it. However, the area where the visor contacted the roof left a visible shadow line in the paint. It's not scratched; it looks more like mineral deposits from standing water. I tried removing it using ScratchX (by hand), but that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

 

Have you tried using a mixture of 50% distilled vinegar and 50% water? This may help remove the mineral deposits. It worked great for me last year.

 

You may even try using a clay bar...

 

yes, I would try either of above but, would recomend claying the whole since it sounds like you have not, just spend some extra time in that spot to really make it not noticable.....

 

I think I'll give claying a try. Where can you buy a clay bar? The haven't found it at major retailers like Wal-Mart and Target? Would an Auto Zone or Discount Auto store have it?

 

Yea, Autozone should have Clay Magic. 10 bux or so...
