I just put mine in with regular clothes. If they are really dirty I'll run a seperate load.

Hand wash with liquid soap. Use warm water. Air dry.

Do not wash with lint. Do not use softner.

I always throw mine in the washer with whatever else is being washed. But I always air dry them on a line. No fabric softener either in the washer or dryer.

Agreed, as hottest water available. Careful when drying though, dry on medium or low heat so you dont cook the poly threads. When they rub up against the heating shield, thats when you run into problems.....There are specific brands of cleaners made for microfiber products, but its up to the individual to determine there true value in their needs. Dont add fabric softener, as it is actually a water repellent.

Beet, you and I must shop at Costco often.

I bought about 5 sets of those (yellow)towels & gave them as giftas at Christmas.

They are the cheapest & best quality towels I've used.

Sometimes I stop at Costco on the way home from work just for the samples

But yeah, those yellow towels are great. I use them for dishtowels and stuff like that too.

yes, but imo they are complete and utter crap, i only use them on interiors. They are very linty (atleast the 30 or so I have are) and they don't pass the CD test, and also, make sure ot wash them seperately from good quality MF's

As far as washing mine, I use woollite and hot water in the washing machine. I hang dry when i'm at my apt cause our dryers are full of beach sand, or I dry it in the drying machine on low at my parents.

I use my Costco ones to do the interior/trim/windows/polish metal...I have a few big ones to do the drying outside...mine hold up fine.

Just got a new pack o' MF from Costco as well but haven't opened...

I'll try the ol' CD test and we'll see how the finest MF that China can make (probably) holds up...

take the towel and rub it hard on a CD, if it scratches don't use it on your paint

I've got a question on these towels...I too am an avid Costco shopper and have gotten the MF towels a couple of times. Some of my towels keep collecting dirt (little piece of wood, random things from the garage floor, etc.). Is there a better way to keep these towels clean without having to pick every piece of debris off of them? I wash just like everybody else but these pieces never come out. I have to inspect my towels before I use them on my cars for fear of scratching the paint

Thanks!

They just seem to collect dirt and stuff from going from the car (in the garage) to the laundry room floor to the washer/dryer back out to the garage shelves. Am I the only one to get debris stuck in my towels?

That's probably a good idea...while I don't get tornados of dust in my garage, it is a garage and sure to get dirt and junk in the air.

I've always read that you shouldn't wash MF towels with regular towels; you should wash 'em separately. I've also seen some folks say that you shouldn't even use regular laundry detergent. Instead, use something like this: http://www.bikedepot.net/pin620.html

I don't know about the validity of the above statements, though. The people saying those things might have a vested interest in these "rejuvenators."

I never wash *any* of my car-related gear with any clothing. I wouldn't want any product residue to mix with my clothes. So I always wash the mitts, towels, and MF towel on their own.

The problem with washing MF's with everything else is they attract lint and whatever else is floating around in the laundry water. Its best to wash them with only other MF's or waffle weaves, as neither shed.

Yeah, my girl washed & dried one of my costco towels with the regular clothes...the thing stuck to the dryer sheets & nearly every sock in the load...

I normally use Woolite on the good MF towels. Not too concerned about my bulk Costco deals.

I would caution peeps on drying them though...would seem like common sense, but some polishes and high heat in a dryer do not get along well

I use 2 plastic bags. One to keep clean MF, and the 2nd to carry the dirty ones. That way, they don't risk being dropped on the floor or picking up stuff when transported.

Great idea!
I'm betting that mine get dirty when I wash them with other things as well....I could not believe that my garage was that dirty

Thanks all....

I wash mine separately then run them through the dryer on air dry setting.

Once completely dry I fold 'em and keep em in a ziploc. 1 for waffle weaves, 1 for buffing cloths, 1 for general mfs. Keeps 'em clean and separated and easy to grab one without dumping the rest on the floor. (for Patrick)

I wash them with liquid detergent (like dawn) in the sink. . .

If they're real dirty i let them sit in a bowl overnight or for a few hours w/ soap and water then rinse them real good... then I let them air dry

after they're dry they get seperated into ziploc bags

I hand wash my MFs. I use 1 bucket, ONLY MFs in it. Laundry detergent and hand agitation. The dirt comes off surprisingly easily. I think that is the advantage of MF.
