Meg's M105 and M205 Combo?

Well I've used up a bit of my Optimum Compound and Polish and it's time for a new set of compound and polish. They have worked wonders on softer honda paints however I'm running into harder paints like GM's black and also BMW paint.

I'm going to buy some Optimum Polish, however I think I may add some of Meg's M105 followed with M205 and then Optimum Polish for a burnish for those harder paints and just use a combo of M205 and Optimum Polish on the softer paints.

Will a LC Orange Pad be good enough to use with M105 and M205 or should I be using something a bit more aggressive with M105 and something a bit less aggressive with M205?

Any alternatives to either product that may be good? I'm just looking for something simple and that gets the job done without leaving behind fillers and other junk.

I love using the purple foam wool pad with 105. When I did it really cut into the heavier swirls and finished off nicely with only a bit of hazing. I have yet to use 205 but I believe with a white foam pad it would remove the hazing and finish off quite nicely (as I've read from other experiences).

When I first used 105 with purple wool I moved onto Menz IP on orange foam and finished with Menz 85rd on white foam. This three stage polish sure left a brilliant finish.

As I mentioned you could do Megs 105 on purple and 205 on white with great results.

I'm going to be doing a full detail on my buddy's 95 bmw m3 and will be using the combo I discussed. I expect some excellent results so I hope you find the same success if you choose that route.

Couple of things withthe 105/205

1) Make sure you have shade .. doesn't like sun where Optimum doesn't care.
2) Be ready for dust.
3) If you splatter it get it off fast as it can be a bitch when it hits textured plastic like the windshield wiper cowels.

I use the 205 for some of the tougher spot things.

Agree with Jesstzn and thanks for posting those tips that I neglected to mention. I always detail in my garage so I didn't think about the shade part, and yes 105 will dust and spatter here and there. It may be a good idea to dress the textured plastics or use black wow on them beforehand to help prevent 105 or 205 sticking to the parts as much.
