Well I don't post much because of the forum issues . 1/2 the time we can't open threads or post to them. We get 1/2 a page .. been like this for weeks now and no repair progress. Seems like its more north of the border for some reason.
This also happened last fall and they fixed it but this time its been since late Dec.
Here is a thread I started and it got move because it wasn't in the right forum ... christ I couldn't even get the search to work to find the right forum
https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-member-help-support-suggestions-area-363/forum-oddities-803128/
It too me 8 refreshes this time to get a complete advanced search page so I could do a user search to find my thread. Then when I did get a coplete page the search result was a terms and conditions page. 5 refreshes got the result.
Just frustrated...........
Post won't work if replying via the quote function ... etc etc etc .

Dale, I just meant its becoming an advertising arena, again.....That was why I left Autopia. but then again, Autopia looks better now then it used to. Maybe I will go back to Autopia.

I have to applologize too ... mostly because of the forum issues and condition .. up here in Canada most the time it only opens part pages .. we have to refresh stuff 6 times to get it to open, we hit submit reply and nothing happens ... its been a month now .. and nada.
I'm sure the developers of the forum can fix it .. dunno..
I had to open the New Reply button 5 times even to post this

I've got a question for you exceldetail...
I created a thread about getting Gorilla Glue off of my front bumper. It's been there for over 6 months and I've tried a variety of things to get it off. Warm water, mineral spirits, etc. Do you have any suggestions? The bumper is less than a year old and I don't want to resort to getting it resprayed

You guys make it hard to put some distance here!
CLtotheTL32, GG makes a living being a bonding material. Obviously, you're in for some R&R. Consider a plastic razor blade and ice. Get the GG as cold as possible, without chillin the plastic below it, and try to get under and pop it off. Its important that we get one of the two items colder then the other (GG or plastic bumper) and allow shrinkage. This is when its most susceptible to pop off. If its a smear, you may have to resort to acetone. It may take some paint with it though!
Do you have a pic of the bumper?

^Thanks for the tip! The problem is that it's a thin spread out layer, not like a huge blob of it. Here's a picture:
And here's a picture from further away. Look at the last A in the front bumper:

Did a little research for you, not that its going to help though, dangit.....I was hoping it wasnt smeared....
"There are no solvents or cleaning agents to remove Gorilla Glue once it is dry. Sanding, scraping, scratching, or chipping it off is the only way to remove cured Gorilla Glue. If there is a larger amount of glue, you can try taking a pair of pliers and crushing and cracking the glue and then try to flake it off. If it a smaller amount, or if you tried to wipe it off when wet and there is now a thin film of Gorilla Glue on the seat, again lightly sanding with a fine sandpaper may be the only answer; but you will need to be really careful not to damage and scratch the vinyl seat. What about putting an "ACURA" decal in there, then using touch-up paint on what remains?

I'm not interested in buying car care products from any other on-line vendor (not that I'm making him rich or anything). But that's just me.

I appreciate you looking into it for me! I guess I'll have to sand it off and have it painted.
Over the summer I was washing my car before attending a VA meet. I washed over black vinyl letters and the last A fell off. I put a LIGHT coat of Gorilla Glue on the back of the letter and put it on my bumper. I walk into the garage the next morning and see that the GG had seeped all around the letter and onto the bumper. It had been 6-8 hours since it was applied so it was already rock hard (no homo). I tried scraping it and applied some mineral spirits with a Q-tip but that didn't do much.
It's not as bad as it was originally, but then again it's been ~6 months since it happened. I'm so dumb.
I like the look without the vinyl letters therefore I'm not willing to put them back on. Even if I wanted to, the glue is clumped on the last A so the vinyl letter won't sit properly in the groove/stamp in the bumper.
Most likely. GG is pretty porous. It's sorta like sandpaper right now.
Front plate ftl.
I've been considering getting a rattle can of WDP and clear from paintscratch.com, sanding the glue off, and spraying just that one area. What do yall think? I can't leave it the way it is, I get pissed just looking at the front of my car.

GG says on the bottle that it expands A LOT during drying.
Having said that, I have done similar on less important finishes.
I think you should suck it up and take it to a body shop.
Otherwise, you will probably make it worse, and therefore even more expensive to fix.

It's been on there for so long that I've gotten used to it. My birthday is in March so maybe I'll see how much moola I get and get an estimate on getting it fixed.

Now we need the membership back at the plate posting good info, asking questions, sharing information and experiences and doing all that other helpful stuff that the site is known for. That's the other half of the plan.
