Mcguires Scratch X+Zaino?

This weekend I put on 2 coats of ZFX/Z2. The shine is unbelievable. Anyways, im an idiot and didnt see the plastic lining on the claybar. I have some surface scratches on the hood, because I realized the plastic lining was the problem. The car is so shiny, that these scratches kind of shine to lol, and are sometimes noticeable at some angles. The question is, can I use Mcguires Scratch X to try to remove these scratches, even though I applied Zaino. Does the Scratch X remove the Zaino in the area I apply?

I would think that any scratch remover would also remove any wax or sealant. You are probably going to have to strip the "Z", use your scratch remover and re"Z". Call Sal Zaino.

Maybe if I put on a few coats of Z5 it will help. Otherwise maybe I will use the Scratch X, and then just rewax that area.

yeah u should re-Z after using ScratchX...if ScratchX doesn't work for some reason, u may need a lil more harsher abrasive compound, like 3M Swirl Remover #39009 in which case u should definitely re-Z afterwards

Make sure, if you use Scratch-X or SMR that you thoroughly wash the area with dish soap to remove the fillers and oils from the abrasive. Zaino has a tough time bonding to that.

The Dawn will certainly remove the fillers, etc from the panel and insure that the Zaino will "stick."

I've actually been having good luck with a couple of mini-Z7 washes to clean up some small areas that needed some 39009 by hand.

Procedure: just wash SMR'd area with Z7, rinse. Wash area again, rinse. So far, I've had really good results doing this. I've only tried this with the 39009 ...

YMMV
