Meguiars Gold Class
I just got done waxing my month old ABP TSX (yeah its 10:00...so what?) and I have to say --- I know alot of people on this site like Zaino's vut I can't see how anything can be better than Gold Class. I can see myself in it and it feels like butter to the touch. Doesn't leave any white stuff at all on the car afterwards.
One secret I just found out about --- wipe off the wax with cheese cloth instead of a towel or microfiber. Picks up anything left over from the wax. Then rub down with a microfiber to buff and wow.....no car should be this shiny.

I used Meguiar's Gold Class on our Milano Red TSX and have no complaints. I did find some places that I needed to wipe down the next morning upon close inspection. The Gold Class is readily available at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

I too have used Gold Class, and shinewise, it's as good as I've ever used. Also easy to apply (I love the TSX b/c its so small I can wash and wax in an hour!).
The bad rap on it according to the wax psychos is that it doesnt last very long, say about 6 weeks. So its not a good protectant like Zaino.
I understand NXT looks different from Gold Class, but good, and is a much better protectant. I may give that a try next. I don't want a garage full of half used wax cans though.

I think I am going to buy a clay bar next, never tried one of those, but when I was waxing yesterday I noticed the "contaminants" on the paint like people have said. Mainly right behind the rear wheels.

I use Gold Class as well. Very happy with the ease of use and shine. I agree with MarkPinTx that it doesn't seem to last as long as I'd like. That seems to depend a lot on the use/driving conditions. I have a car that I cover/store for the winter. I drive the car maybe 1000 miles a year. One good wax in the fall before I put it away is usually all it needs. The TSX gets a lot of highway miles and 4-6 weeks is about all I can get from a wax job.

Hey,
I just want to butt in here and recommend using clay before you wax. Once you get turned on to it and feel how smooth it makes your finish, you'll never want to wax without it!

I have to agree that just using the Gold class wax it only last about 2 months on a car.
Zaino is a 2 step process (3, if you use their accelerator).
So, as a more fair comparison, this weekend I tried Meguir's 3 step 'deep crystal' wax process on my TL:
1. Paint Cleaner
2. Polish
3. Carnauba Wax
I don't know if you guys use polishers or paint cleaners before waxing, but we will see if this lasts longer than just waxing alone.

Yeah let us know. I saw that system in the store, but I went with the gold class. I also was tempted to buy NXT, but I guess I will wait until this is gone before I try another kind of wax.
I want to know if those systems make a difference either in shine, or in time of protection.

whats the shiniest wax out there? my car is a dailydriver/show car(soon) and i've been using meguiars gold class for a while now, and am very satisfied with it. I haven't gotten a chance to use Zaino yet, even tho i've heard its the best wax for a black car?
But are there any other waxes out there that leave a NICE deep reflection?
Also, about clay bars. I have this thing where I wont wax my car before claybarring it. Because I feel if I do have any contaminants or anything "stuck" in the clearcoat, that it will scratch the paint of the car when i rub the wax around, so I go ahead and claybar it before waxing, everytime. Is my thinking correct?

Not an Ashtray
The most shine you can get from a wax is probably S100.
$15.00 at carcrazy.net or at your local Haley-Davidson outlet (its packaged as motorcycle wax).

I use the Gold Class wax on my cars and I love it. After I'm finished with the bottle, I will try out the new NXT wax. Here are some results with the NXT wax on the S2000.

Meguiar's NXT is fantastic but not perfect:
+ incredible deep shine, like glass
+ easy to apply
+ looks great on all colored cars (but better on darker colors...like black)
+ cheap! cheap! cheap! (<$15)
+ better than Zaino with dust
- requires good prep work for a concours shine*
- can not be layered
- has mild cleansers so it probably shouldn't be used in sandwiching (it removes Zanio slightly)
* Because you can't layer NXT like Zaino you can't build a layer of polymer to cover spiderweb swirl marks. To combat this Meguiar's chemists went with a different vehicle for the wax (creamy vs. Zaino's clear liquid-like look when applied) and added mild solvents to make the product more of a one step product than a last step product. So, you have two options: 1) more grunt work removing all swirls prior to the final step of NXT 2) saying 'screw it' and let the one step magic wow you to a 95% level of swirl masking and 100% of the shine.- has mild cleansers so it probably shouldn't be used in sandwiching (it removes Zanio slightly)

The NXT has cleaning solvents and agents included with the syn polymer wax. (NXT is not a carnabu wax). So what happens when you layer the NXT wax, it strips the first layer. The only benefit to applying a second layer is wax coverage. (making sure that you have applied the wax everywhere)

That makes sense.
What about layering carbuba waxes. I usually do, but I hope I am not wasting my time by putting on multiple coats of the stuff.
