lovebugs
This is what I use for bug splatters:
1Z Insect & Tar Pre-Cleaner
Details on the product from Autopia:
"Einzett Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner is concentrated for effortless and protective removal of insects, tar, grease, bird droppings and other stubborn contaminates from paintwork, chrome, glass, rubber and plastic. With its unique solvent properties, Einszett Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner easily cuts through dead insect remains and dried-on bird droppings.
This product does not contain enzymes and is therefore particularly gentle on skin. Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner is bio-degradable, formalin-free and propellant-free.
Use Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner as a spot treatment before washing. Rinse your car thoroughly, then spray Anti-Insekt + Pre-Cleaner on areas that require treatment. Allow the cleaner to work for up to three minutes, then agitate with your wash mitt and wash shampoo."

Hate mosquittos
I am reviving an old thread
After washing my car and wax with Optimum...and left the car overnight outside, the next morning I literally found at least 30 dead mosquittos all over the top and over the trunk....I normally found a few, but never this many
So I was wondering, how do they get trapped to the surface? Is it because of the nuba wax? Is there a product I should use after / before wax to make them rethink about laying their feet on my car?

Love bug: [: scientific name Plecia nearctica] or Palmetto Bug [Periplaneta americana]
Flying insects common to the southern United States, especially along the Gulf Coast, during the semi-annual (May - September) bug flights or seasons; the insects are commonly found spattered on the hoods and windshields of automobiles. The body of these bugs are acidic and can etch the paint on vehicles if not washed off. Love bugs seem to be attracted to lighter colored objects. Spray affected paint surface and allow product to dwell, remove with a clean mesh covered sponge. Poorboys Bug Squash – http://www.autogeek.net
Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Sponge - The number one tool in my arsenal against bug grime is this honeycomb sponge, this remarkable product quickly and safely removes the toughest bug grime and tar residues, without marring the finish - http://www.properautocare.com/saf-scrub.html

wet the car and then take a wet towel, soaking wet, and place it on the bumper and leave it there for about 20 minutes, this will saturate the bugs. Then take of the towel and then wash with regular car wash stuff, i use Z-7. the bugs will come off very easily with this method. It also helps if you have wax on the car.
