Looking for a CHEAP car wash soap
I need to find a car wash soap for this Saturday's upcoming school car wash fundraiser. Budget is limited, here's what I have in mind:
Simple Green, 140oz, $8.99
2, Dawn Original Liquid Dishwashing Detergent 90oz, $6.99
If I use either one of these products, preferably the Dawn, at a 1oz to 2 gallon dosage, would this be sufficient for car washing? Budget is LIMITED.
TIA.

Costco, I believe, has Megs Gold Class Car Wash, gallon size for under $10. You might also try PepBoys online and see what they have, they're pretty inexpensive. I think the Megs DC Car Wash (64 oz) is buy one get one free till June 30th. I would ditch the Dawn unless you plan on doing the dishes also. lol! Simple Green is an APC and I don't think it was designed as car shampoo. Most of the car wash soap at the brick & mortar places should be under $10.

Yeehaw
Don't use Simple Green or Dawn to wash cars.
Go to any autozone or whatever and get a big blue jug of the cheapo carwash soap. I think its about $6 for a gallon.

^^ Thanks.
Those washes are as dangerous as the cheapass organizers like me...:p
If I can't find anything tonight...I'll just bring my bucket of laundry detergent.

Well, I got ahold of several bottles of cheapo car wash soap. We did wash several, quite $$$ cars last time.
We have another one this Saturday if anyone is interested in making a donation only. :p (Not a good idea to get your car washed)

we just did a hand car wash a couple of weeks ago to raise money for our dragonboat team.
fyi - i wouldn't want my teammates washing my car. right under the blistering sun, using the same sponge for both the rims and the body, etc...
we bought all our products from costco though (car soap, sponges, microfibre towels).
we weren't as cheap as SodaLuvr. haha, j/k

I won't even bring my 10+ yr-old beaters to car washes. I just don't know what's wrong with these dorks who bring their $50K Lexuses and BMWs to these washes. We had a 1-yr old S430 once.
