Liquid Glass Polish
Liquid Glass Polish
I have not been obsessed with car care for several years now. I just purchased a new 07 TL and guess what??? - I have the bug again.
Looking through my prducts from back in the day I have some stuff called liquid glass - saw it in the auto store yesterday for $23. Any experience with this stuff?
I also have some old turtle wax tire gel - any good or not?
Most of the stuff I used came from a budy at an auto body shop - Mcquires professional polish with medium cutting power. Clay bar with Mcquires Final inspection (I think) Would any of this stuff still be good and is older product okay to use on the new body materials? I used to have a Tacoma (all sheet metal - no plastic body parts)
I have read the extensive posts here but can not find any of the recommended products locally? The final finish or finish first product (can't remember) or some seem pretty hot on this UPP/UPPS stuff.
I will throw this out to see what our sponsor thinks - what about a new owners detail kit of your recommended products. Perhaps bundle a kit for like 5-10% off retail. Just a thought - like I said I am new to this forum so I have no idea what the relationships are or how competative the prices on the web site are - it is just a thought. I know I would buy a package deal just to save all the headace from doing my own research. I can say that from what I have read I would trust the detail guys recommendations.
ALSO What do I have to do to private message someone. I registered and never received instructions on how to activate my account but I am able to post. ANy help on any of my ramblings would be greatly appreciated.

Out with the old, in with the new. It appears you have a new attitude about car care, I suggest you get rid of the old stuff and start anew! And if you done your reading, then you know the importance of the PC?!
The UPP is by far, one of my favorite detailing product, and there new line of polishes, Four Star Body Shop compounds, is quickly becoming a regular staple when I detail. Theyre actually revising some of there older products now, which shows a genuine concern to a consumers needs. Theres whole new line of product becoming available, in very short order folks!!
Anyway, back to UPP, super slick, incredible reflective qualities, nothing stale hear. Great durability, easy on and off. If it was any easier, someone else would have to do it. My most recommended product on the website, ok, next to towels....
The reason I dont have a newbie kit, is everyone has different needs, different expectations, and different economics. I would rather have ask what ya want, (We'll answer to the best of our abilities here. Theres a wide knowlege base here at Acurazine, and a very friendly group of folks willing to help. Although I did make a "Greenhorn Kit", on the request of a customer, for his truck form).
Kits are already reduced 10%. Non kit products can be reduced with using "acurazine" at the promo prompt. Not all products can be discounted. Items like Duragloss, which are rediculously affordable to begin with, and dont offer a large enough profit margin to further discount. Or einszett items which prices are set by manufacturer, period. Theres no adjustment allowed. And there may be a squandering of others....

I too was a big fan of Liquid Glass until I learned from the resident experts here. Back then I thought LG was the way to go and as a claimed "sealant", LG gave me a better shine than carnauba based products. It also required me to "bake" it in the sun after a first or second coat, but I had to put up with the amount of static that attracted dust like a 2-sided tape. I switched to Klasse AIO/SG and used it on my TL-S. Just waiting to finish off the SG and will switch , this time to the 4S UPP.
Liquid Glass is an old school product and is very heavy on petroleum solvents. It also eats up your rags. I gave it to a friend who uses it for his sport bike fairings. I found that Klasse is non-oily and tricky to apply but I found a technique to apply it. Most success was with using MF cloth. Klasse worked wonders on my 03 TL and even better on BMW paint (03 E39). I wonder if the what wonders the UPP would bring! Can't wait.
You'll find an abundant resource from the xperts in this forum who does not hesitate to share their expertise and experiences in enhancing you ownership of the car you chose to own. I don't have my TL anymore (I still have my 1.7 Acura) but I keep coming back to this forum 'coz the guys here are the best! Due to this forum, I was a convert from an occasional "waxer" to someone who details my car to almost a religion. And yes, I now have my own DA polisher with a good collection of pads.
The moment you "grasp" the concept of protecting your finish, you too will get the BUG.
Welcome and many happy postings!

Liquid Glass was/is an acylic sealant, back in the day there were very few polymers around and this was a fav with show cars (not that I'm old enough to remember those times though
Anway the shelf life of most polymers (and BTW acrylics are a polymer) is approx three years... so give exceldetail a call and get some new polymers, you'll be amazed at how easy they are now to apply / remove
Cheers and welcome back to the OCD's
