Leather protection/ Seat covers?

My 01 Highlanders leather is showing its age/lack of consistent care/abuse with fine cracks on the seating surface(my first vehicle w/ leather).

Aside from better care for the next vehicles leather, are seat covers a viable option for intermittant use?

Returning from the beach , after sports, long day trips on hot humid days w/ sweaty skin sticking to leather seats-- is conditioning enough? Even if conditioning is enuf, the covers would be nice for multi-day vacation trips during those muggy FL summers.

Would seat covers for occassional use be detrimental to the leather? Sheepskin, neoprene.. any type best to use or avoid?

Regard, Mike
