I'm getting it detailed in a few weeks, why wash it? Detail. NHBP 2007 Si

Today's job is one that packs a bunch of tasteful mods along with a few engine mods paired with its K20 under the hood. Son's Nighthawk Black Pearl has not been detailed in over a year, and when he did, it was by hands. He was nice enough to leave the car unwashed a month for me (Thanks Son), leaving a ton of dirt and dust on the paint hiding the tremendous amount of swirls. Fortunately, the NHBP is the same color code as my fellow Acuras (TSX's, TL, RL's etc) that I have had a lot of experience working on, so I assumed the clear coat on this Si would be very much alike. And it was! Check out the pearls on this bad boy!

Here’s the process:

Surf City Wash Concentrate with Euro-W Bucket + Grit Guard & DI Sheepskin Mitt
Clay Magic Ultra Fine Clay with Optimum No Rinse Wash as lube
Meguiars M105 / UDM 4″ / Yellow
Menzernas P085RD / UDM 4″ / White
Menzernas P085RD / Flex 4301 5.5″ / White
Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection / By Hand / Foam Pad (Synthetic Polymer Sealant)
Optimum Power Wash
Duragloss Aquawax
Stoners Invisible Glass
Duragloss 321 non-silicone tire dressing
One Grand Do-it-all Vinyl Dressing
303 Aerospace Protectant
Optimum Metal Polish / #0000 Steel Wool

Some orange peel by the painter. No wetsanding was done on this job.

Thanks again!

Woops missed a small spot!

Door handles!

I will go to my grave not understanding the fad with those giant tow hooks but regardless, the paint looks great.

How come you chose to apply FS UPP by hand?

Good Job.

Did you use the 4" pads and M105 on the whole car or just for spot buffing?

Just spot buffing. For the most part the P085RD gets almost everything out.
