If not ZAINO, then what???

OK, before everyone jumps down my throat, let me explain.

This would be for my Dad... While he still loves cars, keeping them clean, etc., he's not getting any younger and his patience is going as well. So, if you were to buy your father a good WAX, that doesn't require a full day to apply, what would you get??? He's not a big fan of Meguires, btw...

Thanks!

I do not get why people think Zaino takes any longer than any other wax/polymer to apply.

Ok so there is one more step if you use Z1 instead of ZFX.

Everything else is in the prep, which I would hope you'd do with any product.

Clay is not anything new to Zaino. Sal is a perfectionist and wants everyone to love his product.

If you want a good bonding surface, you need to wash off any dirt, crud, crap.....thatr is on the car prior to application. Once the car is prepped, you shouldn't have to clay unless you notice the surface of the car is rough.

Ok, back to products. I'd recommend, assuming Meguiars is out of the mix:

Klasse
Blitz
3M - their professional line
Liquid Glass - yup it's pretty damn good. Used it for a long time

I too am unsure why you'd want to look elsewhere.
Any wax would require you to put it on.. wait for it to dry.. and then remove it. If you get Z2 (mix in ZFX).. you put it on.. wait 30mins... take it off (it comes off with minimal elbow grease).

What about "Blackfire"? I've heard some poeple here use that. Although, I've never seen it anywhere in any store...

Pretty much the same as Zaino (polymer), but I hear it doesn't last nearly as long.

Hmmm... Maybe Zaino isn't all that difficult to apply. Seems that ZFX is a huge help.

It's mail orders only for that stuff???

Hey, I'm probably just as old, if not older, than your dad. I've done my share of carnauba waxing over the decades, usually having to apply every month to six weeks. Zaino lasts much, much longer and is very easy to work with (15-20 minutes on, 15-20 minutes off), once you get past the initial prep, which should be done with any product you put on the car, it's very low maintenance. With ZFX hardener-accelerator, is now a one-step product.

There's a distributor in Chicago, Pat, 65stingray@email.msn.com

Ecklers charges, I believe, a dollar more per product.

Agreed!
Whatever you use, you should at least wash off anything that was there before, clay, and wash again before applying anything. Zaino or otherwise.
I'm still using up my supply of Best of Show Wax before switching to Zaino. Even then, I still use the same procedure that people here use for Zaino (which I learned from Griot's Garage many years before hearing about Zaino, so don't think it's a Zaino-only thing!)
