Holding my breath.

Remember my steps to a long lasting pure glass like wax job. use shammy to detail finger prints, dust, loose micro debris etc. always do that with the shammy damped and follow with a dry shammy. use Megs nxt 2.0 and you will get this kind of quality at home. here he is....

I captured a little sunlight in this one. my cannon cam hates the sun, auto adjust you know. as you can see, its glass like and free of swirls. the wax disregards water and keep shining, dont waste your time on expensive dealer type chemical just do what i do and youll have a award wining showlike finish

Until you post a picture of the reflection of the sun in the paint (or a halogen work light) please stop infecting the world with your thoughts...

From your descriptions, you clearly have no idea how to wash, prep or wax paint.

Take some time to learn how to do it properly, then come back here, thank anyone who helped you learn, and feel free to show the fruits of your labor.

Dude, I will be patient here, because I think you may actually become a contributing member around here. eventually.

See Portland's above pictures "in the sun" where the sun is actually reflected in the paint. You know, the bright yellow circle thing. Conversely, use a halogen work light to replicate the light source. This is the only way for people to really see the quality of the paint prep work. Clearly you value what others think about your paint, based on the title of your thread.

People post shaded shots like yours because, with only a few exceptions, ANY paint looks good in those shots.

Everyone needs to calm a bit down in here.

As obvious as the flaws in the OP grammar and washing/polishing techniques are. Not that I am defending the OP, but I think the norm on the boards is to lash out at those that are obviously not up to par. This is an enthusiasts board, if the OP wants to continue to be irrational, idiotic, let's not egg him on. Move on to more engaging topics and those that care to promote the boards. However, OP, this is your thread, this isn't to say that you didn't do anything wrong. You can't expect to start a thread on a public forum and not be able to take shit that you try to dish out. Grow up. You aren't perfect, and from the pics and your grammar, you are far from perfect. The members of the boards aren't here to bash first, help second. You'd be surprised to learn that you have a lot you can learn from many of the great members and resources on the board.

Let this be a warning to everyone.

You have no idea at all what they are talking about do you .... we aren't wanting a pix of your car with your camera shooting AT the sun but with the sun behind you so they see the reflection of the sun in your paint.

I'm gonna say this only once. Don't start a thread, claim stuff and then tell others you don't have time to back your word up while putting others down. Man up, post the pics others have asked for or I'll close the thread, and change the title to something you won't like so you can forever have a reminder of your douchbaggery. Take this as a lesson learned and change your behavior.

There is a little button on the camera that focuses. Try it.

I am sure you like your process. Take a look around these parts and see where the advancement of detailing has moved on to from the olden days of chamois. Also, evaluate the pro's and con's of using a wax that has fillers. Some do, and some don't.

All this is information that is free and available to members here. I came here thinking I knew what was up but learned quickly that others had MUCH more knowledge than I did.

Then again, if you like your results, stick with what you like. Just refrain from telling people that you are better than them. It reeks of insecurity.

A nice clean car starts with a good wash. Taking it to the express wash isn't good. In a few years the accumulation of dirt which you can't see is going to build and as you wash and wax your car the way you are, your clera coat is going to fade. You don't think that's the case because your car is new, give it time, keep washing and waxing the way you doing it and first your clear coat will go and then the paint. These aren't things you see overnight and that's what the other members are trying to get at. Just cuz your "shammy method" seems to work now, doesn't make it good. There is a reason why many hardcore enthusiasts spend weekends, not hours washing, waxing, polishing, sealing, buffing, claying their cars. It's a process, not something that can dealth with with a shammy. Look up any thread or discussion or DIY on how to properly wash your car, you're in for a big surprise when comparing it to how you wash your car. Just a friendly tip, up to you if you wish to look into it and learn something from it.

Dealers aren't in it to make you happy with their "awesome" paint protection. Did they also mention anything to you about having to go in and get it reapplied every couple years? That paint protection isn't a lifetime, let alone 20 year thing. It's just a coating like anything else to help protect the paint a few years at a time if that. If anything, dealerships market it to and scam lazy folk who don't want to spend the time in the upkeep of the exterior of the car into thinking that the protectant will do magical wonders for the car. The thing is that it will slowly go away and you won't know it unless you keep up with proper washes and waxes. Unfortunately for you though because you have the protectant you shouldn't be doing anything that would cause the protectant to come off because then it's just a waste of money.

So you have two courses of action

1) hire a detailer to take off the protectant, and have a professional detailer wash, wax, seal, buff, clay your car to protect that paint properly

or

2) wait for that protectant to slowly come off and become a spotty arrangement of protection making it even harder to protect your paint.

maybe with the dealer paint protection no wonder why a regular meg wax does magical wonders on my car, it stimulates the dealer stuff.. i like it though, very easy to maintain..i dont go crazy with clays or paint cleaner or cleaner wax, just wax then detail once in a while..

so you're admitting that for now it's shiny, but expect that later it will be crap?

It's a new car with a new paint job, of course there isn't rust! Acid Rain? we live in so cal, how much rain do we get?

And for the record your car isn't that rare. You want to talk rare, my previous car was a 2003 Acura CL-S 6spd, white exterior, black interior with navigation. Only 13 (IIRC? it may have been 15) were ever made. That's rare.
