How to take care of front emblem and area

I am new TL owner. I have waxed the car for winter and am wondering if I can wax the emblem in the front and the grey area around it. I hope I have explained it well enough. When summer comes if I don't have something on it the bugs will never come off.
Thanks to all who reply.

i wouldnt wax the area inside of the emblem...but if you feel you must, it would be ok to wax the emblem itself...

For the winter I tape mine over .. in the summer use a sealant that doesn't stain textured plastic.

I wouldn't wax 'em. Maybe the "wings" and emblem (although, it'll be tough, not much room), but not the dark gray plastic surround.

Hey Jesstzn,
What sealant do you use? I have some Meguiars plastic polish, would that work?
Thanks.

I use DuraGloss #105 or Meguiars #21 ..

The plastic polish is a polish not a wax/sealant.

You could try some spray wax on the emblem.

You could put some wax/sealant on the plastic chrome emblem but not on any of the plastic gray area of the grill. Personally, I apply Aerospace 303 protectant on the gray area of the grill and the black plastic area directly behind the plastic chrome Acura emblem. Water beads like crazy on it when I wash the car.

Where do i find the Aerospace 303 protectant. Thanks that is exactly what i needed to know. In the summer here the bugs are bad. If you don't have the surface protected the bug guts are impossible to clean off.

You can find the 303 Aerospace protectant at most boat stores. This stuff is great on all your plastic parts, including the dash, doors, rubber seals, etc. Don't get it on any clear plastic though, such as your displays, it can damage them. Not sure if this is the best soluction for bugs though. A good way to get rid of the bugs is to place a soaked towel over the bug area and let it soak while you wash your car. Then wash that area last. The saturated bugs should come right off.
