How often should I apply NXT?

Just finished washing and waxing my car (boy that took forever), just wondering when should I wax it again. It looks pretty good, but not as shiny as the pictures I see on this forum. Also when waxing, should there be a white haze at all or should it be so thin that you can bairly see it? Thanks.

Are you talking about the haze right after you apply the wax? There should be a thin layer of haze, which you would then wipe off. After you do the final wipe, there shouldn't be any haze at all. Just shiny goodness.

Yeah there is a haze, but then when i apply it its like a white haze or should i keep on rubbing it in so that its hazy but not really white? Toward the end I got a little lazy and didn't rub it in as much and left it kinda whitish hazy. Can I apply another coat tommorow? Not sure when I should apply another coat.

After you first apply it, you should have that white haze. That's good enough. Just make sure you wipe all of it off afterwards.

I don't think there's any benefit in doing an additional coat of NXT so soon. One coat is all you need. It should last 3 or 4 weeks or so. Then it's probably time to put on another coat.

Should I/how would I clean the rotors, I was looking at them and saw that there were brown streaks running down it, not sure if its rust or something, but sure does look like it. I was looking at the gallery and other cars still have a very clean and shiny rotor, or whatever the disk behind the rims are called.

Sounds like you applied it too heavily. When applying NXT a very thin coat is all that nees to be applied, that way it should just wipe right off.

Shouldnt it last longer than that? That's as bad as Gold Class. I thought NXT was going to be a poor/lazy man's zaino?

I don't know about the longevity of NXT, but I believe it is a one coat product, a cleaner wax type of product. Adding more will just remove the coat thats on there and replace it with another, kind of like Klasse AIO. There is a detail spray for NXT though that will probably let you add some more gloss to the finish now and then.

my philosophy is the more frequent the better. You will be left with a shiny well protected car. I am not aware of any problems if you wax monthly with any type of wax. I use a detail spray wax biweekly as well. Waxes are cheap enough so you might as well keep the car with lots of wax on it.

Yes, wax is cheap. My time and labor, however, are not.

same here, but if you use liquid waxes you can do the tsx in a half hour and detail sprays take about twenty minutes or so for the tsx. Not too much time for even us busy guys.

My car is black and I just applied NXT on Sunday. I also see some signs of swirls (or I guess haze) only at certain angle or light reflections. It's not too noticeable but I can see it if I look for it... otherwise the car looks very shiny and reflective from little distance. I am thinking that I did apply too much wax or waited little too long to wipe off the wax. Sorry, I'm a wax novice (I should have done my homework :'( )

Assuming that I have applied too much wax rather than a thin layer as recommended, what can I do to remedy the situation. Is it too late to do anything? would it cause damage?

Thanks!!!

I wouldn't worry about damage. when in doubt wax is a good thing! If you see some white spotting from wax you let dry on, you can try removing it even a few days after with a terry towel etc- wipe towel on that area and it may come off. other than that don't worry about some isolated swirl marks- everyone has them and you rewax again in the future that can help with those. waxing is fairly simple and i recently started myself. much cheaper than bringing into detail shop and you can use good quality waxes.

Thanks for your feedback 'floridaowner', your comment gives me little comfort in knowing that I didn't totally screwed it up. I just have to pay attention on my next wax duty and do a better job in general.

Although I'm not an wax/detail expert, the NXT worked great on my car... made my car look very shiny and clean... I'm glad I read about NXT from this forum before I went ahead buying some generic brand.
