two, usually once in the spring and then again in the fall.

Im with the others, usually twice a year........
I'll clean all the winter crap that has encrusted itself in the paint due to road grime from the rain, then again after the summer sun has baked its contaminants in.

Really? i thought claying the car is bad cause it scraps away some of the clear coat??

Claying can be bad if it's done constantly and improperly. Twice a year as stated in the previous posts will rid the surface of imbedded particles, surface contamination and keep it smooth as a baby's butt. See "How To Clay" for more info......
