how many coats of sealant?

How many coats of sealant do you guys do?

also i was thinking about adding some nuba wax to finish it off. i have the griots nuba wax that looks like a deodorant stick. is that fine to use on top of the sealant?

Which sealant are you working with .. some have cleaners in them. The wax should be fine over top.

Jess, do you space the 4 coats over a certain amount of days or time? I believe you need to let the upp cure for say 60 minutes per coat, correct?

I think the bottle says 15 minutes if I remember right but that refers to drying time .. like all sealants 12 to 24 hours between layers for proper curing / cross linking.

4 coats is pretty impressive Jesstzn!

I usually don't make it past 2 on my personal vehicles. I always recommend at least 2 to ensure complete coverage of the sealant or wax.

Jess - do the 4 coats add longevity to the sealant or are you trying to ensure complete coverage?

Longivity .. you should have got complete coverage with 1 layer if done right .. at least with the second.

^^i agree. on the 4 coats (or multiple coats for that matter) do you wash or wipe off the car beforehand to clear any dust that has collected?

my car doesn't fit in my garage (dumbass builder) which forces me to park outside - if i were to do multiple coats, do i just spray some QD on it to clean off the dust? what process do you guys use in this scenario?

Ya really dont want to use a QD prior to applying another sealant. I mean it works great for cleaning but your adding a layer of water soluable chemicals, a barrier in other words. You "could" use a QD for dust removal, but I would certainly want to wipe afterwards with straight water. JMO.....(or wash)

If you QD'd it for cleansing purposes, a light mist with water should suffice..........Unless of course you washed it, then your good to go.
