The only OTC Polymer Ive used was NXT, which I stopped using due to lack of durability. It didnt provide more then 4 weeks worth in the Ca summer sun. Ive actually had better durabilty with Nubas....
My favorite polymer, by a pretty good stretch is Four Star Ultimate Paint Protectant. Unfortunately, its not available OTC.....

hey Exceldetail......i now use Zaino....do you think that 4 star is worth switching from Zaino? just curious. also, if i do switch, can I apply it directly over top of the Zaino i have on now?

thanks!

Gum, Im not real familiar with Zaino. I do know that 4 Star is best when applied to a sterile surface, although there are some products that sit rather well beneath it. But, I havent heard of anyone using 4 Star atop of Zaino. Why do you want to switch? Remember, no prep, no pride.....In other words, your sealant is only as good as your prep work. The majority of your time should be spent "glassifying" the cars surface....As far as I know, Zaino isnt a polish (by definition) but more of a concealer, and protectant.....Feel free to correct me if im wrong though....

4 Star may not be able to sustain the same durability as Zaino, but its extremely easy to use, and this is a plus, this way the cars surface can be maintained without too much problem. It does however have provide a depth and glow, that from what I understand, Zaino doesnt. Keep in mind I havent used Zaino, so I dont have a personal compariosn, this is just what counterparts have conveyed to me.....

You mentioned in another thread that you liked Optimum Car Wax. How would you rate its durability?

Its up there with the best of them....It does contain Nubas, but doesnt act like a Nuba, it has better resistancy......Im always real critical of length of protection, some will say 3 months when I say 6 weeks....But with Optimum, proper washing and in between maintenance, expect 8 weeks.....Now others may say more, but like I said, Im always on the critical side....Ive currently got it on a test vehicle, so give me 8 weeks and Ill really let ya know how Im doing !!

Patrick, OT. I've been using PB S&G in between washes and I like it's slickness after application (using it on top of Natty's). I was also considering the PB QD+. Which one would be better to use over the OCW?

Haw, actually the QD plus will give you additional slickness and protection (U.V inhibitors). I think you'll find after you use the OSW, your going to find its slickness on its own, rather unbelievable........Especially the following day after the Polys have linked up....

my favorite is Klasse, or poorboys. Poorboys EX-P has a nice tropical smell, and matches the rest of my Sonus stuff pretty well. I think all in one is probably the best invention since sliced bread because you can use it for so many applications. I don't see the attraction to Zaino. Why use Zaino if you can get the same, if not better shine with a lot less steps? Just my 2 cents
