Wash the car, clay the car, wash it again, apply wax with cloth (bought wax applicator recently) and remove with cloth.

Wax is applied in a circular fashion and taken off using straight strokes from front to back of the car.

I have to do something about this since I have swirl marks in my car now, not terribly bad, but I notice them.

Start on the hood and front bumper....then do the drivers side fender, then go around the entire car.

wait you apply it in a circular motion, then you buff it off going back and forth? On the Zymol bottle, it says to apply it in a straight back & forth motion, then buff it out? Lol I'm confused

Do sections at a time
Start with the roof, mirrors, front and rear window pillars. Then hood, front sides, front bumper. Then one side of car(top to bottom). Then rear of car. Then to the whichever side remains. All of this using a side to side motion, not circular.

I use an orbital, apply the wax that way, starting at the hood and going around the car, then cutting in with a pad by hand the sections that the orbital cannot do. then i take it off with 2 freshly dried towels, i usually do both a "circle" and "back and forth" motion. Then i do a final rubdown with a semi-damp towel, and that takes off all the dust. Wax shouldnt cause swirls, usually only hi-speed buffing can do that.
