moved to wash and wax, if you want the easy way out, but you can damage them, 0000 steel wool. If you want to take your time and do it right, clean with water first, then dry, then use Eagle 1 Neverdull, you can buy it at walmart in the car isle.

0000 steel wool isnt going to damage stainless steel....

it looks more like his problem is with the black carbon build up inside the tips...

if that is your issue then try a scotchbrite pad with soap and water and scrub it clean if it will, if that doesnt work, try some brake cleaner or some other kind of solvent....

Mother's M&A is great, good for what ails you. From the $.25 Glock trigger job to polishing plastic watch crystals and I've even used it on plastic headlight lenses.

Inexpensive and works well.

As for my process/products, I'd use 0000 steel wool and Autosol. There are also many other metal polishes out there. Using 0000 steel wool is similar to using very fine sandpaper on your vehicle's paint.

I use Meguiars Chrome polish on my Magnaflows. Mine never get dirty enough that I have to use anything else though.

A single screw holds them on. I pulled mine off and cleaned them with Dawn and then used some stainless polish with a scotchbrite.

Just don't try do do them in place, it is a PITA.

Pull em off and it is a breeze.
