Help! Shine Process!

I want to give a go at trying to make my dad's Acura RL 2005 shine! Right now, all that is used right now is a common cheap soap/wash mix from the store. Sometimes, he'll get the machine car wash/gas station washes.

How can I start to make the car look better? Can someone help with maybe a step-by-step of wash/wax and products for the car?(Remembering it is diamond gloss, if this changes anything). It can be a quick little write-up!

I would try to stay away from orbitals and anything too advanced to not cause damage to the car. Maybe just some quick, easy, wash and dry products! Thanks!

The turtle wax ice line of products (spray wax and liquid polish) have worked well for me.

Understand these products DO NOT fix the problems in the paint, but cover them up.

The shine will go away after time and the swirls/scratches will come back.

Machine polishers are the only way to completely fix the problem and get a 100% perfect finish.

For just "shining it up" once in a while these products will work and are available at wall mart - there are much better products than these, but typically are only available through online retailers.

The shine from a paint surface is the result of reflected light, the requirements are; a clean level surface (with no surface scratches to diffuse the reflection). Polishing a paint surface to remove any scratches is the secondary most important requirement, and lastly a protection that doesn’t mute the reflection.

Be cognizant that a wax or polymer sealant does not provide a shine, they can only reflect what is underneath.
