seriously, when it comes to touch up paint and a paint chip, i just try to fill the chip and be done with it...its going to look bad no matter what, so the paint is more for color matched protection...

I tried all kinds of stuff to do some of the mid color metallics and never had a lot of sucess. Seems like when you dab the chip the metallics themselves rise to the top and then if you langka or wetsand it takes them off and below is a filled mismatched chip.

Just noticed a long line on my rear bumper that got gouged by some idiot who probably hit it with either a shopping cart or barely hit it with their bumper. As much as I try the chip will never blend perfectly. I just add a ton of layers on top of the chip spot so you can't see the black behind it. I try to do 1 layer per day till I'm happy with the results. But you pretty much have to accept your not going to make a chip disapear without some professional experience.

Man I hear ya metallics are a bear to color match. I have tried as well with little success. I would recommend going to a paint shop and pay them to mix you up a batch of paint blended to match your car then try using that to fill any chips now and in the future. Good Luck!
