Headlight Refinishing.

The wifes TL has about 150,000 highway miles and the Headlights were a milky pitted mess. So much that I had noticed, when driving at night I thought we had some bulbs burnt out.

I picked up a 3m Headlight refinish kit from
http://www.amazon.com/3M-39008-Headlight-Restoration-System/dp/B001AIZ5HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323048056&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/3M-39008-Headlight-Restoration-System/dp/B001AIZ5HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323048056&sr=8-1

Just need an electric drill and some painters tape. Follow the directions or watch the video. Took a little over an hour to do both lens but, Now that Im finished they look like you would expect a car 1K miles on them. They are practically 100% new again. Lights even shine a little brighter now that its clean.

So if your HL look dull or are pretty dorked up. I highly recommend the kit.

Sorry for not thinking to take pictures, but Hell picture hazy, dull pitted lens and then factory fresh ones.

Well worth it. Hope this helps out.

This was one of the first things I did to mine although I used 750/1000/3000 grit wet sands and a high speed polish afterward. Either way excellent results are awesome and new looking headlights make the car all the more attractive.

Glad you got yours situated!

Did you do the full sand down with the different grits? You might want to spray some clear coat on them to keep them in their present condition. I have been throwing wax on both the front and rear lights each time I wax the car.

Headlight restoration is also one of the first things I've done to my TL.

Actually, I did it the day right after I bought the car.

Followed these steps:

supposedly...I've looked into this product called crystal view which is supposed to be a one time application and won't get hazy ever again.

PS...great work, all of you.

What exactly do you guys use to put a protectant on the lens? I hear some people just put clearcoat on.

This is by far one of the most impressive headlight resto's I've seen.
