Headlight cleaning

How can we clean our headlights and tailights? MY headlights have like water spots and stuff that wont come off with a normal car wash. Can I use 3m swirl remover or some rubbing compound on the headlights, and then put a coat of wax on?

I use Invisible Glass, but I'm sure Windex would work too.

Champ...don't you have a newer car(02/03)?

If so, I wouldn't use something abrasive...stick with clay bar & a good coat of wax...swirl remover will only imbed more scratches.

They're gonna get those tiny swirls just from washing/driving, etc.

Just keep em clean & wax them...whatever you do, don't use an abrasive on those lenses...you'll kick yourself if you do...

Look into that 3M clear bra material...maybe it works on the lenses...would keep them from getting any worse anyhow.
