Hail Clearcoat Damage?

Hail Clearcoat Damage?
About two weeks ago on the freeway, I ran into a small hailstorm that lasted a few minutes. When I got home I noticed that there were some small whitish spots on my hood and trunk. After washing the next day I noticed that while there are no dents, it looks like the hail took out tiny spots of the clearcoat where it hit. I think the hail caused the clearcoat to "shatter" and that was the residue that I noticed. My question is, should I be able to polish these out with a UDM or is there something else I should consider? I don't own a UDM, but was considering purchasing one, and now seems like the best time to do it after this. Also, because I am new to orbital polishers, I don't want to damage my paint even more than it is already. The damage is not something that a person would notice casually walking by, but you can definitely tell where the clearcoat got damaged if you know where to look. BTW, I have an 08 NBP TSX.

If the clear fractured from the impact polishing isn't going to solve it .. Have you talked to your insurance company .. should be covered under comprehensive.
On top of that if the clear is compromised there is a possibility it will spread.
