Gritty Feeling on my hood and front quarters

What's up everybody! I've got a minor issue that's bugging me. I drive a Silver 05 TL, and the car always looks good because it's an easier color to keep clean and I wash it at least once a week. But this past weekend I waxxed and buffed it with an Auto buffer. It was looking all nice and glassy and shiny and I was happy til I felt the hood and it was still gritty feeling like it was dirty.

What's the problem, it feels like shit but looks good? What do i need to do?

Thanks in advance for the tips.

Environmental fallout. A light grade clay bar will relieve your anxiety as well.

+3 on the clay. Once you use it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Just so you know you will have to re-wax after you clay.

Thanks DooDs, I've seen you'all talking about claybars for a while, but I've never used one, never seen one, ans dont understand how to use it. Can i get one at pepboys, or autozone or murrays, and I also dont undersatand the lubricant?

If someone could explain to me how to use it and what it does that would be great.

Thanks,

Removes contaminants imbedded in the paint. Makes it glass smooth.
