I use the 2 bucket method when washing our cars and wanted to get a grit guard to prevent scratching and debris getting on the wash mit. Anyone know where I can buy these in different sizes as I'm not using the 5 gallon bucket that some ppl use. I got my buckets from Advanced Auto parts below is a link to them - anyone know if there are grit guards that size?

As far as I know, there's only one size available which fits 3.5-6 Gal buckets. That bucket you have, sorry to say, is not the norm.....close but no cigar!

 

You can trim them down to size. I would recommend starting with making it a little bigger then you need and trimming until it fits how yo would like, its a scary process chopping up that little piece of plastic that cost 15 bucks shipped.

 

Do what I did .. go to the hardware store and get an egg crate light deffuser and cut your own .. make it 2 high .. Had one like this now for years and never an issue with crud coming up . you could put it on stands if you want more bottom clearance ..

Just get a couple of buckets from home depot. They sell some white ones that aren't the home depot brand. They are perfect because unlike the Home bucket, you can see the water level. They're less than $5 a piece.

You will never need another bucket. One 5 Gal should last you a lifetime......
