Cheaper if you go to Lowe's and buy your Porter-Cable. They have them for $93.

Buy the 6" Lake Country pads, flexible pad holder, and terry bonnets from www.topoftheline.com.
Flexible pad holder - $15
2 Orange cutting pads - $15
2 White polishing pads - $15
2 Black finishing pads - $15
4 Terry bonnets - $10 the Terry bonnets will fit over any of the dry pads

Total cost for pads $70 plus PC from Lowes $93 = ~$163

Werd.....just did something similar, Classic Motoring Association has a good pad set for about $45, spent less than $150 for it all. Not including waxes and polishes of course.

(By the way, I wouldn't worry about the terrycloth bonnets or the 4" pads ... I hand buffed with a MF and there weren't too many places the bigger pads couldn't get to.) might save you some coin.

agree, and I wouldn't bother w/ the terry cloth either. I have a few MF bonnets and have used them once on an excursion, so easy to remove by hand

Pretty much what I did, got the PC for $80 at lowes (during the special), the ordered pads from Patrick.

Sellout - pads from exceldetail are really good, while you are there you can order the polish/wax/ and whatever else you need

Wow that is CHEAP! Up here in Canada, PC polisher cost $240 + 15% tax ($276)! I guess I'll go and pick one up in Detroit in a few weeks.

I can hear Customs now: "Do you have any fruit, vegetables or random orbit polishers to declare?" :cop:

Is it neccessary to have 2 pads of each if you're only doing one car?
Or is one ok?
Also, how many Terry Bonnets do i need if i'm only doing one car at a time?
Also, since i am not planning on using this with any paint levers or compounds, is it neccesary to get the orange cutting pads? I am basically just polishing and waxing.

So is it ok for me to get just
1 white polishing pad
and 1 black finishing pad?

Or would i need 2 for one car?

I'll throw in my

Is it neccessary to have 2 pads of each if you're only doing one car? No, I got two of the pads I thought I would be using most, but you could go with just one of each

Or is one ok? See above

Also, how many Terry Bonnets do i need if i'm only doing one car at a time? I don't use Terry bonnets, I use foam to apply and Microfiber cloths to remove

Also, since i am not planning on using this with any paint levers or compounds, is it neccesary to get the orange cutting pads? I am basically just polishing and waxing. I would get at least a light cutting pad, you may find that the polishing pad isn't aggressive enough depending on which polishes you use.

So is it ok for me to get just
1 white polishing pad
and 1 black finishing pad? See above, In fact, Depending on what glaze you use, you may not even need the finishing pad. (I use Menzerna FMJ and apply by hand)

Hope this helps!
