Going to Start my First Detail on my NBP.. Chime in!

Ok.. so I just placed a decent order at Detailers Domain for the following:

PC 7424xp
Uber Pads 5.5 pads

P21s Wheel Cleaner
Adams Undercarriage Spray

1. Meguiars 105
2. Meguiars 205
3. Mezerna Power Lock Sealant
4. Nattys Paste Wax

I have all the other odds and ends already. I have used the PC before about 2x, so not as experienced as some of you on here, but after doing alot of reading, I strayed away from the hype of Zaino, since I came to learn that it was just a filler and not a real paint correction approach. Now don't get me wrong, my NBP does not require crazy amount of correction but, just like any other east coast NBP, it has its fair share of swirls and scratches.

Now questions to the all the detailers.. I'm going to lay the products down as I have them numbered.. but do I have all the right guns for my project? Now I read that Honda/Acura Paint is soft, so what pad should I pair up with which product? Also if I understand this correctly, I have a bottle of Meguiars Swirl X and it seems that this is less aggresive than 105 but more aggressive than 205? Does this mean that I should start off with 205 first and then Swirl X and then 105? I understand that no matter which one I use, I have to finish it off with 205.

Looking to create a 30K mirror this weekend !

You can also try the consumer version of m105 which is Ultimate compound. It's what I use and it's only 10 bucks at most autostores. It's about a 8 out of 10 on the aggressiveness scale and m105 is a 12 out of 10. Something like that, someone correct me if I'm wrong lol...

I think the advantage of using M105 vs. The compound is the way it finishes off. The M205 finishes off more like a polish. Emphasize "I think". LoL

M105 might be too harsh for soft Honda paint. I for one have not been able to finish M105 nicely esp. on a black car. I always had to follow it up with PO85rd or Polish II.

I just did my NBP last week!! Man what a task I spend about 5 days on it first day just wash and clay then I started with M105 with a white pad which worked well for much of my scratches but I had to use the orange pad with the 105 to get many of the other defects and I had to use quite a bit of pressure with both pads to get the desired results. The M205 finishes up fantastic though!

Here are a few pics below of the kind of damage I had and these results are just with the 105 not even finishing up with the 205

WOW!!! Roger555 You are my hero - I have very similar scratches on my two cars. My Nissan Armada (thanks to my kid's scooter) and my wife's NBP RL. So - if I buy the PC rotary and those two Meguiar products: Meguiars 105 & Meguiars 205 plus the white and orange pads - I can remove MOST of my fine white scatches? I would be in heaven. I currently worship Zaino - have I been misled?

I like the Zaino products, but if you need paint correction, Zaino is not the line to go with.

Elegant, I'm anxious to see pics of your job!

Although "easy", what works for one isnt necessarily the case for others. I cant stress enough, dont look for miracles the first PC outing. Kind of like getting 1st place out of a dozen already experienced, on a track you never raced on before, if you get my "drift."
Take a few laps, and get comfortable! Use rubber proven to be fit for beginners, and never exceed the recommended speed the first few times around.

And if none of that makes any sense for you, PM me. Ive sold a lot of pads, polishers and polishes. Be happy to make some recommendations.
