Be glad Acuras dont use Ceramiclear.

...................or should they?
This was a beast today........A few before and afters. The light was lost after the detail was complete, plus it took 6 hrs for this one, and the client was already late for an appt.
Before.....

After......

Before....

After.....

Before....

After......

I started with a traditional wash, and light clay, then Blue pad and Poli Seal. No luck on this real hard clear......
Bumped up to Optimum Polish, a little better.....but not good enough...
Up to Optimum Compound and Orange pad, and that cut through but also marred (this was a first for me with the Compound marring)....Finished with Optimum Polish and green pad, sealed with Four Star Ult. Paint Protectant Spray.....

Have you tried going with a rotary? I had great results on the Audi with the rotary that the PC couldnt cut through.

But still looks great!!

Thumbs up

Menzerna P085RD and PO106FF polishes were designed to remove very fine (3000 grit) swirls from the new, super-hard, ceramic clear coats. These are the BASF clear coats being used on the Maybach and 2004-5 Rolls
Royce Phantom and PPG's CeramiClear which is being used on the 2005 Mercedes C-Class, they can also be used on conventional clear coats. These re diminishing abrasives and require heat/pressure/speed to break them down.

Amazing finish though...

Yea, Patrick - Blackfire also offers a compound and a polish for the scratch resistant clearcoats. You may have to add these to your arsenal if you gotta do other cars with ceramiclear.

This is only the second CC i have worked with. The other was silver, and brand spanking new.
In general, I hate working on black cars. Its also time to warm up to a rotary w/Spoiledman over at Autopia......Luckily we live somewhat close by, and have become pretty good friends....
