Getting gasoline smell out?
So my wife ran out of gas the other day and I had to pick her up. We picked up a gas container at the closest advance auto and I put it in my trunk. I was pretty ticked off in general, and didn't think to secure the container.
When we got there I found some of the gas had leaked out into my trunk. I removed the liner from the trunk and have been scrubbing it w/ carpet cleaner and plan to use baking soda and isopropanol on it. The trunk still stinks however even w/the liner removed, some gas might have soaked into the spare tire well.
Anyways, long story short, anyone have tips on getting rid of the gasoline smell?

Empty your trunk and leave it open overnight. Obviously the fumes have impregnated some materials....Leave the BS in their as long as it needs to absorb.

The Old Grey Whistle Test
Remove the spare wheel and anything else in the trunk, clean and then spray everything, Odor Terminator works on a 'contact' basis.
Valuguard’s Odor Terminator is not a perfume or cover up scent; it’s an unscented formula that chemically alters the proteins that odour causing microbes feed on. It's non-toxic, non-allergenic, fast acting without offensive perfume smell and will not damage interior materials or components.
For the removal of smoke, pet odours, petrol (gasoline) and virtually any organically caused odours (inc mould) in carpet, seats, headliners, upholstery and heating and air conditioning ducts, spray a fine mist over the entire vehicle interior beginning with the headliner and finishing on the carpeting. Odor Terminator is a contact product and must be sprayed on the source of the odour. Be sure to spray under the seats. A/C system ducts- spray into all vents, turn on the fan blower and spray into all intakes. Extractor Units: add 4 ounces Odor terminator to each gallon of extractor solution. Clean interior glass after use to prevent spotting. (http://www.autoint.com )
