First complete Detail - NBP TL - pics inside

Alright so I have completed my first complete detail job on my car. I am very pleased with the results. I did everything by hand. It took me over 10 hours ! ( I am never polishing by hand again ! lol wow what a task).

What a difference from start to finish. The paint was very rought and had no reflection and seemed flat and dull.

I was worth every minute invested. Now I believe I might follow advice from the forum and buy a PC lol !

first thing i wanna say is thanks to everyone here for all the great info. I learned so much in the past 2 weeks about detailing !

I did the following

1. Washed with dawn to remove all the previous wax
2. Clay the entire car using megs clay kit
3. Polish the whole car using Megs #9
4. Sealed the car using Blue Coral sealant (i think that's the name, got it from a professional detail shop)
5. Interior: clean, protect
6. Random stuff: tires , moldings ...

So here are some pics.

1. The whole car :

2. Hood reflection :

3. Door reflection :

4.whole car again

Any comments or tips appreciated !

Looks good man.. I spent almost 8 hrs doing my NBP as well. Of course a week later, the pollen decided it wanted to crap on my parade and make my car look like a bumble bee. I can't wait till it is gone and I can get my car back to looking as good as yours.

Def get you a P/C UDM.. Best money you'll ever spend. Makes the job 14522455 times easier.

10 hrs? Cut that in half with a PC/UDM!! Car looks great though! Now put that DAWN BACK IN THE KITCHEN never to return to the garage again.

If a person uses dawn on their car, then they should be using Meg's gold class car cleaner for their hair!

Between your #9 and the clay, you prepped the surface adequately. Dont believe a word you hear about dawn. It really serves no purpose, that proper detailing steps wouldnt accomplish anyway.

The car looks great but I caught one spot that many of us detailer's look at as a pet peeve... clean and dress your wheel wells.

I apologize in advance if they in fact were cleaned and dressed but from the pictures, it looks like you didn't dress them.

It's my understanding that Dawn strips carnauba wax (not sealant?) so you can apply a new layer of wax or sealant on a clean surface. However, polishing your paint removes the old wax/sealant anyway so there's no need to use Dawn.

Nice work!

Megs #9 is an excellent product for those who do not want to perform true paint correction. Baby steps........well.....considering this took you 10 hours then you may consider a PC for your next detail.
