Extreme Tire Shine

Just thought I'd drop my two cents on those who don't know about this wonderful product.. http://www.armorall.com/images/prodshot_etsgel.jpg . It's ArmorAll extreme tire shine, works wonders and keeps the wet look for days. Any other products you guys use for tires and rims?

For extreme tire shine,I go with the Four Star Tire Gel, or a newly discovered foam product from Sprayway "Rubber and Tire Protectant". I hope to be adding Sprayway to my product sales shortly, althought they want a 40 case minimum, which may be a little hard for me to store!

I use Black Magic gel. Stuff was pretty good. I will start to use Meguiar's tire gel in the spring.

Meg's extreme tire spray or the hot shine foam, both work very easily.

Patrick, is the Sprayway "Rubber and Tire Protectant" a new or recent product. Couldn't find any info on their website about it and possibly product list is not updated. The only item that comes close is 932 - High Gloss Tire Protectant under auto detailing products.. one and the same? Or different? Just curious - besides I still have enough PB Bold N Bright and Four Star.

I think I might try some sort of gel, I have found a few times even if it's not that windy, that I will have dots of tire spray mist all over my freshly washed car after I am finished. I have been using Meg's Extreme Tire shine aerosol.

I had a terrible time applying the NXT Tire Shine due to the sprayer. It atomized the product to such a fine mist, it would inevitably get all over the car.

I've been using Black Magic Tire Wet for the past 4 years or so.

Absolutely amazing stuff. Keeps my tires super shiny and wet looking. And it lasts for several weeks too. Even after a month or so when the wet look is gone, the tires are still black and somewhat shiny, as if the tires were brand new.

The problems with slinging arise from either:
A. Applying too much product
B. Not allowing enough dwell time
C. Product is not adhering (Tire not accepting chemicals, usually do to "oversaturation" or tire isnt cleaned)

I use Black Magic Tire Wet as well. I wipe it with Eagle One Tire Swipes. Gives me the deep black look I like not the oil slick wet look. And the price is right

Patrick,

How do you apply the 4* tire gel? Foam applicator?

A couple tire dressing tips.
  • Never spray tires on a cement driveaway. If you have no choice, lay towels around the base of tires. You want to avoid getting tire protectant on the cement.
  • If you are doing a full detail anyway (polish/seal etc) apply tire dressing before polishing. That way if the product floats to the cars surface, you will be removing naturally while polishing/cleaning.
  • Use a sponge applicator, even with sprays. It allows for a more even distribution. I know its not as convenient, but it can help with the above issues.
  • Dont constantly remove tire drerssings. Good tire dressings will penetrate and protect. There is no need to remove this protection with every wash, and reapply. Use some light soap product to just removethe dir and dust which may accumulate, then wipe additional product on, with that applicator i was referring to!
Carry on detailers!
