Expaning Foam Help

Hey guys, I need some help.

A co-worker had a can of expanding foam explode near his car and now has foam on the body panels. He carefully removed the majority of it but what would you use to remove the adhesive portion that is remaining?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

There is no adhesive portion .. its the foam itself sticking .. Your going to need to experiment to see what dissolves the foam without hurting the clear coat.

Suggestions

1) Varsol ( Solven't for oil based house paint )
2) Rubbing Alcohol
3) Goo Gone
4) 3M adhesive remover.

Be VERY careful of Goo Gone...

I would try clay first...

Maybe some bug and tar remover and let it soak in...

Ditto. I also used it to remove the adhesive gunk left over from debadging a grand total of 19 individual letters from the tailgate of my old Santa Fe. I also used it on a customer's TL-S when he wanted it debadged.

No touching Goof Off, though. That stuff will murder your paint like Freddy Kruger.
