Dreck on interior glass
Dreck on interior glass
I suspect this topic has already been discussed adnausea, but please bear with me. I just one short year, a film of murky dreck has built up on my rear window interior that defies all chemicals in my arsenal. Have tried conventional glass cleaners (Windex, Glass Plus, etc), using paper towels, terry cloth, old t-shirts .... everything but sandpaper. All I've managed so far is to push the goo around and into impossible to reach corners. No tint involved.
Who among you has the cleanest inside windows and how do you do it?

I have read many positive reviews of a glass cleaner called Stoners Invisible Glass.
I assume the 'gunk" is the vapours that interiors give off when new - just building up.
Also, do you smoke in the car?
Obviously whatever you use - you want to be careful about the heater wires on the glass.
oh, you didnt mention white vinegar? try it 50/50 , of even full strength .

Homer2, No smoking going on, just interior vapors and a high humidity climate. About Stoners Invisible Glass, you've read about it but haven't tried it? Testimonials? At this juncture I'm willing to accept hearsay.
And I'd considered vinegar; Grandma's foolproof window cleaner, but got nervous contemplating the application of an acid bath to the copper defroster circuitry. Is this how you clean your car's windows, w/ a vinegar solution?

I cant give any first hand reviews of stoners - but I have really seen a lot of positive things said about it.
Oddly - I use GM genuine window cleaner in a can. Its abut $5 Canadian - and sprays out and turns into foam on the glass. removes everything - even those annoying white numbers the paint on your wiondows at the track -. It does that job better than anything anyone else has tried that I know.
I use it on my tinted glass - but probasbly shouldnt. I use a wet cloth more often than anything though. ,
Acid bath ? never thought of that. I cant imagine it would be terrible once in a awhile -
you could do a search on the 'newspaper" method of cleaning glass. I have seen this mentioned many times - especially by detail shop people - just never bothered asking if they just take a crumpled sheet of newspaper or whether they wet the window first.
