Does a new CL have a Clear Coat?

Hi - just got loads of info on Zaino but they say in order to use the right products you have to know whether there is a clear coat on your car?? So, does my new CL Aegean blue have a clear coat??

Thanks, Rustito

About 87 or 88 just about all had a clear coat, I had an 86 MC SS with no clear coat.

The car comes with cheap clear coat. I got my car re-clear coated at my local body shop.

Hey I think I removed some of my clearcoat with rubbing compound. Is there anyway I can replace it. I can see the dull spots where I applied the compound.

RUBBING COMPOUND -- OUCH, OUCH, OUCH...

Boy, I still have some Dupont and 3M stuff from the old days. I would never use that on a new car.

You should see if the clear coat is gone OR if the dull spots are just the micro scratching caused by the harsh abrasives used in a rubbing compound. The stuff is rather gritty and it will leave the surface looking like it was hit with fine grit sandpaper. Perhaps you could try some more delicate polish (the idea is to go from coarse to fine) -- there are a lot of different brands and types…

However, before proceeding, you might want to have a professional take a look at the car. Last time I checked, a quick look at the car by a pro for an estimate was free AND they might charge less than the cost of the polishes you will be guessing at...
