1) Use the Scratch X first. It is a cleaner that will remove minor swirls and scratches. Remember to really work it in a small area (12"x12") with a foam applicator pad. This is NOT a rub on and rub off product. It has to be worked in really well until the diminishing abraisives are broken down (It will look sort of like vaseline (clear in color)).

2) The wax is a last step product and you should not try any paint correction unless you plan on reapplying the wax after.

And after working it and turning clear and squeaky, wipe it off and repeat. You will need to repeat about 3-4 times.

After any cleaning or scratch repair, wax it!

Use Scratch-X then throw away the Turtle Wax and get something else.

Scratch X is a polish that will remove oxidation, swirls, minor scratches and surface defects. You can, if you choose to do so, use it on the whole car. Megs has several different poilishes as an option to Scratch X. A lot of members do polish their entire car to give it gloss and reflectivity, then apply a sealant/wax over it to protect the finish. It's a very common practice for enthusiasts and pros.

Turtle Wax is shit. I prefer Meg's NXT wax...it's good and it's pretty easy to find...

Polishing is just as important as waxing if you want to give your car that new paint look. On a full detail I will usually polish twice and wax once or twice as well.

It's considerably easier and faster when you have a professional polisher (and I'm not talking about the $20 orbitals at Sears).
