I've used a DYI windscreen repair kit purchased off ebay.

I went with this one that was made in the USA, thinking it would be better quality than the chinese products which were a few dollars cheaper.

, it should be noted that I've had this chip for about 3 years and I guess it would work better if it was fixed sooner.

I was happy with the result and at 25 dollars compared with the 70 dollar professional quote, it was worth doing myself.

A final point is that it doesn't make the chip go away completely but reduces it significantly and strengthens the windscreen.
