Dirt caught in the bumper

Right where the bumper connects to the fender or whatever there is a line of dirt, like under plastic, i tried to scrape it a little and it scraped off a plastic-like substance, so i think it might have been the clear coat... anything i can do about it?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm in the same situation. Any suggestions to remove the dirt stuck on the plastic bumper? I plan to clay that area but is there something else I should do prior?

The clear in those areas is very poor .. chips off easy .. go down to the auto store and get a bottle of Dupli-Color clear and apply it .. that will seal the edge and help slow down the peeling.

Jess, I should have said that my bumper hasn't peeled yet. Just has some really stuck on dirt. Any tips to remove this? I was thinking Dawn with a mitt.
