Dilution question
Dilution question
I tried a search but could not find quite the answer I was looking for. My question is when diluting product, what is the ratio of product to water. I would assume it depends on the amount but for instance...I wanted to use optimum power clean to clean my dash before protectant application..a good dilution I keep reading is 3:1...is that 3 cups of water to a cup of power clean?? I hope this isn't a stupd question
Better safe than sorry, so not a stupid question. Yes you are correct. Most spray bottles come in 32oz sizes. So in this case you are using a total of 4 parts (3 parts water, 1 part cleaner). So just divide 32oz by 4, which gives you 4, 8oz parts. So 8oz of cleaner to 24oz of water.
I typically use Meg's APC+ for most general purpose cleaning. For engine bays and wheel wells, I use it 4:1. For general interior cleaning...10:1. I keep two different spray bottles available at all times at those two ratios. It also works well 4:1 on pre-soaking bugs.
