Dilution question

I tried a search but could not find quite the answer I was looking for. My question is when diluting product, what is the ratio of product to water. I would assume it depends on the amount but for instance...I wanted to use optimum power clean to clean my dash before protectant application..a good dilution I keep reading is 3:1...is that 3 cups of water to a cup of power clean?? I hope this isn't a stupd question

Better safe than sorry, so not a stupid question. Yes you are correct. Most spray bottles come in 32oz sizes. So in this case you are using a total of 4 parts (3 parts water, 1 part cleaner). So just divide 32oz by 4, which gives you 4, 8oz parts. So 8oz of cleaner to 24oz of water.

I wanted to make sure that was right before attempting to dilute any product. What are some good recommendations on products that are cut and for what purpose..interior and exterior..

Depend entirley on the product. I always error on the side of caution using more water then recommended. As for Power Clean, I would start with a 10:1 ratio.

I typically use Meg's APC+ for most general purpose cleaning. For engine bays and wheel wells, I use it 4:1. For general interior cleaning...10:1. I keep two different spray bottles available at all times at those two ratios. It also works well 4:1 on pre-soaking bugs.
