Detailing is in the details

While doing the wash, wax, and polish routine this week-end, I found I had a couple of questions:

What do the experts recommend for the interior "hard, shiney bits" (door handles, wood or carbon like trim, etc)?

What do you do for the headlight, foglight and tailight housings?

What do you recommend for the emblems and other chrome-like trim?

Finally, on the TL, on the outside B-Pillar is a hard, glossy, black plastic - how should this be "finished"?

TIA.

everything on the outside of the car gets waxed except the satin silver trim on my 3G TL. Lights, and everything else gets waxed though.

For the interior, get any good interior detailer like meguiars or any others, and you can pretty much use it on everything as well, including door handles and trim pieces.

be careful if you use interior detailer whipes, many of them leave a residual film behind on any surface other than your dash (I'm sure the film is still there on the dash but much less noticable. Since the wood in the TL isn't really wood, it has that slick coating on top, I used a plastic polish on it and it came out smooth and slick. I used Zaino leather conditioner on all the leather surfaces. For the plastic pieces (gauges and nav/radio screens) I sprayed stoners invisible glass onto a cotton towel and whiped it on. I then finished everything else off with 303 aerospace srpay.

When I wash and wax I use Zaino. I use is on everything except the rubber seals. I wax the high gloss black trim as well as all the windows.

For the emblems I used mothers chrome polish. My car's new so it really didn't make much of a difference. last time I waxed I skipped this step because my chrome still looks new.

I wonder if there's a product available that can take out stains in the glossy black trim on the B-pillars. I swear mine has a stain but last time I waxed it looked like it came out. I just wonder if there's something specifically for that kind of material.

For the interior, nothing fancy, wipe down with a moistened MF towel then follow with another moistened towel spritzed with 303. The exterior gets the sealant treatment including lights, tails, emblems (only the A,everything else is shaved) and B pillars. The exhaust tips are cleaned with a metal polish. Rubber seals get 303.

if you have a high speed buffer you can wet sand your headlights and tails..just lightly rub with some 2000 grit with water
